Remember the cuisines and taste when Chinese restaurant culture first kicked in Bangladesh in late 80s? Starting with Soup (mostly Chicken corn) & Wonton, Chicken Fried, Friend Rice & Vegetables as main course – that how most of our generation began the discovery of Chinese foods in this country. After almost 25 – 30 years, now when we understand what authentic Chinese actually tastes like, we still love the taste of this Bangladeshi-Chinese cuisine modified much for Bangladeshi taste-buds!
If you love to try that taste of Bangladeshi-Chinese cuisine in Dhaka city where so many authentic Chinese restaurants are very popular now-a-days, Xenial of Dhanmondi 27 road is the place you should go. Xenial belongs to a group who have number of Chinese restaurants – all starting with ‘X’ and virtually serve exactly the same menu. I have been going Xenial for last 15-16 years, and it’s one of the most favorite restaurant not only of my but also of my entire family.
My latest visit to Xenial was this weekend night after almost 1 year (though meanwhile I visited their other chains like Xindian). The place and its decoration is little ran-down compare to all the posh and glamorous new restaurants opened in the city but their service is still warm and welcoming as they are being for last 2 decades. I relived the classic Bangladeshi-Chinese experience by ordering items like Soup, Wonton, Fried Rice, Chicken Fried, and Prawn Fried and all were just so good as always – warm and delicious. The quantity is enough at the very appropriate price – one order is enough for 2 adult and 1 kid. We eat with satisfaction and great time together.
In summary, if you are looking for a place for the classic Bangladeshi-Chinese menu with great taste and very reasonable price, Xenial is the place to go with your family, loved ones and friends. Go there and relived the taste of classic 80s Chinese cuisines!
